Overview
The Bauer Vapor X40 elbow pads offer an advanced level of protection in a form fitting design.
Bauer has used a 3-piece design on the X40 elbow pad. Essentially, Bauer has segmented the forearm and elbow guard into two pieces. This design offers some good mobility while maintaining protection. The X:40 elbow pad features lightweight Vent Armor foam in the bicep and slash guard, for solid protection.
The Vapor X40 has a form fitting design, great for players looking for a low profile pad with good protection. Some players with wider or larger elbows might find going up a size will help. Bauer has used standard velcro elastic straps on the bicep guard and slash guard with the Anchor wrap strap across the middle of the pad.

Comments:Just received these and used them for the first time last night. REALLY comfortable!! The 3 piece design is a must in my book. These are the most comfortable of any elbow pad I've worn and blow any 2 piece out of the water. I wasn't particularly blown away by the "anchor strap" but that could be because I dont have very large forearms so the strap didn't fit as snug as it looks in the video on this site. It did NOT pinch though so it serves the main purpose. Pads didn't slide around much, if at all. I wear full length underarmor so I expected some movement when sweating, but they stayed in place. I'm 5'10" 170 and ordered the medium and they are perfect fit.

Comments:I have the '2010' model, but they are exactly the same. Great elbow pads. Protection is more than enough for men's league, but I like the lower 'slash' guard area. The straps are tight and keep the pad from slipping down, and the pads themselves breathe OK and are pretty lightweight.
