Easton is referring to the The Easton Stealth S19 Z-SHOCK helmet as "the next big thing", and once you pick one up you'll see why.

Easton is working to revolutionize the helmet market just as they did the stick market with the introduction of a one-piece composite stick back in 1999. The Stealth S19 Z-SHOCK is a one-piece composite helmet. That’s right! The S19 laminates EPP foam and the plastic polycarbonate shell as one unit. This construction delivers new higher levels of protection at nearly HALF the weight of current hockey helmets.

The increase in protection and reduction in weight is achieved from the one-piece design which allows Easton to replace air gaps created by layers of plastic found in traditional two-piece helmets with protective EPP foam. And since the components of the S19 helmet are laminated together acting as one solid, stiffer state, this design allows the helmet to absorb impacts better increasing the level of protection beyond two-piece helmets.

Since the S19 helmet is a one-piece design a performance fit is achieved through 5 different shell sizes, oversized comfort pads and a micro adjustable back strap (similar to a ball cap).

The S19 helmet definitely passes the mirror test with a 5-10% reduction in the overall outer dimensions when compared to other popular high-end helmets on the market today. It delivers that sought after slim, non-bubble head look, in a more protective and lighter helmet.

Comments: I have a wide head and the XL helmet did not fit for me. But it was really light and the shell was really tough. It would not give when I was pressing my weight on it. One solid looking helmet but I really wish I could have fit it.

Comments: I'm not really into wearing helmets much and I truly enjoy the feel of the wind through my hair as I skate, but seeing as helmets are required these days the S19 is the way to go. I don't even notice it's there. It's very comfortable, with excellent padding inside, and very simple size adjustment. Beware heavy cages, they will weight the front of the helmet down.

Comments: With the sale price this helmet is a GREAT deal. This is the best helmet I have worn. Super light, well ventilated, and comfortable.

Comments:Best helmet I have ever worn - by far. I switched from a Mission Intake and had worn Bauers before that. Unbelievably light, but also an awesome fit and offers superior protection. One word of caution - if you plan to wear face protection with this consider the weight of the cage/shield. I had been using an Oakley full shield/cage combo and it weighed down the front of helmet so that it didn't fit quite right. I have since switched to a Bauer ultra light cage (which I like better than my old shield/cage combo) and it works great with this helmet.
