Overview

The Bauer Supreme 190 Grip Hockey Sticks offer a professional level of performance without the professional-sized price tag. This Supreme 190 is the first-ever, second price point stick to feature Bauer's Sense Layer Technology. Previously, only the Vapor APX2 and the Nexus 8000 had it. This new design gives the blade a huge improvement in puck feel and durability, without adding extra weight.

The shaft and the blade both feature Bauer's premium 12k carbon fiber that's 10% stronger than traditional 3K carbon. With all of the power that the shaft and it's mid kick flex profile provide, the Pure Shot Blade Profile keeps the blade face square to the target by reinforcing the connection point between the shaft and the blade (aka hosel).

Inside of the blade, the 190 stick boasts Aero-Foam 3, which is very similar to that of the flagship MX3's core. This means players will get a comparable amount of stick feel and lightweight balance to MX3 users. For an enhanced natural feel and connection with the stick, Bauer included their new Tactile Raised Texture on the underside of the stick.

Comments: Great stick; I play both Defence and Wing and have to say, it feels like a heavy duty stick but really lightweight as well.

I load up a lot on wrist shots and have a good slapshot and saw a huge improvement on accuracy and speed. You can really feel the shaft pop on release. The Speed Ridges take some time getting used to, but it gives a great sense of feel; plus the blade core gives a lot of puck response and feel.

I tried the new Vapor x900, but I'm more of a heavy shot guy and the Supreme 190 is now my main stick.

Comments: I got this stick back in the middle of December. I am usually picky on my sticks and I spend hours in the shops looking for the "right one". After spending a few hours of feeling sticks I found that I loved the MX3, however, due to a mishap on my part, I had asked for one too many presents. Well, I did what anyone does and I asked one of the IW employees (Chase) what stick would be close to that feel. I got recommended the 190, I more than happy to buy it and take it off their hands. I play quite a lot of intensive hockey, I train at 3 camps over the summer as well as a full fall season. I am a defensemen and when your a defensemen you need your stick to hold up after chipping in the corner, hammering slappers and even the occasional whack from an unhappy opposing player. I have found that this stick can do it all, honestly, I used my friends MX3 for a game, almost no difference. When I took it to practice for the first time I was nervous, I had no slapshot with my RBZ an
d I was frankly embarrassed to wind up. I pulled it out at the end of practice at a point where I was required to take slap shots, throwing caution to the wind I wound up and hammered one bar down. I thought it was a fluke, one of those first shot luck things, but 12 shots later, it was clear that it wasn't. It was easy to get used to and is amazing for passing. It lacks a bit in puck feel, more of a dampened and toned down feel, but that might impact the amount of shock sent to your hands from the bombs you will be firing. If your a faster moving player, doesn't deke, but pulls one move and then out skates the player, you will love this stick. Durability hasn't been an issue, it has taken plenty of shots to the shaft of it and been perfectly fine, grip is a bit tacky to start off with. So to recap:

Pros:
Great shots
Accurate
Great for the money
Awesome passes

Cons:
Grip is a bit much, loosens up over a few skates
A bit difficult to feel the puck with quick moves and fast stick handling
