Comments:This lid fits! After returning an XL Easton S19 because it was too narrow, I picked up this helmet. For starters, my head is fairly large 7 7/8" so I need a good XL helmet. The S19 was entirely too narrow. The 9900 is a two piece design. I was a bit skeptical about the bike helmet type foam, but the gel foam padding make it on of the more comfortable, and lightweight helmet i've owned. It is fairly well balanced with the included cage. If you use a combo full-facial mask, the visor throws the balance off a bit. It get a little front heavy causing the helmet to slide forward. I haven't tried it with a half shield yet. The traditional two-piece adjustment is nice as opposed to the S19's one-piece design. Tool-less makes it better! While playing, the reduced weight is very noticeable. I had less fatigue & neck pain after playing a full season of inline hockey with this lid. The only complaint is that the padding does not absorb any sweat so it tends to trickle down your face - if you wear contacts like i do take note & bring a towel. It is also fairly pricey.
