The Bauer IMS 9.0 Helmet combines the best of two worlds, bringing players a pro-inspired, low-profile design with pro-level protection. Bauer joins new school and old school by using pro-favorite VN foam with new PORON XRD foam. Protection has never felt this good.

Bauer made a big splash with their Re-Akt helmet — now they're taking it to a new level. The IMS 9.0's V2 Linear System uses a base layer of Vertex foam inside of the Re-Akt shell with a thin layer of VN foam on top. This combination of foams offers an advanced level of protection from both high- and low-energy impacts. PORON XRD foam is used in two key side areas to help prevent injury from rotational impacts.

The Occipital Lock uses a nice, spongy foam to help stabilize and lock in the back of the head for a proper fit with maximum comfort. The tool-free adjustment feature is located on the rear of helmet. To adjust the length of the helmet, simply lift up on the tab to expand or compress the helmet to the desired fit.

Comments:

Nice lid, good fit, comfortable.

One thing to keep in mind if you buy the maroon it's not a dark red at all; it's actually a funky off brown/dark purple color. Quite odd but sorta unique, I don't mind it but it is not even close to the picture and since I didn't care much about the color I kept it.

Comments: Good, protective helmet. Looks sick like the Re-Akt, but uses a different liner and is cheaper. The Bauer Profile II cage fits and looks good on this too.
From: Matthew, San Jose, CA

Comments: This is a great helmet, I had the re-akt and didn't like the liner, this is the same helmet without the liner. I do wish it had the locking occipital lock but otherwise its a great helmet. I also order the titanium re-akt cage, which makes this helmet even lighter, it feels like nothing is on my head.
From: Brian, Washington

Comments: I just played my first game with this helmet, and imiditatly noticed a difference from my older CCM helmet. The custom fit works great, as well as the air flow keeping my head cooler. The only problem I have with this helmet is it is so thin on the sides, my visor/cage combo does not fit into the side lock.
