Overview
The Bauer Classic Chest Protector is designed for the beginner roller, recreational ice or ball hockey goaltender. The Classic chest protector uses dense foam in the chest blocks for protection and has pro style shoulder protection.
The Classic chest protector uses pro style shoulder floaters with a soft foam lining to provide great protection and shot dampening to the shoulder, while also keeping a wide butterfly style profile. The chest blocks on the Classic chest protector are anatomically design allowing the protection to contour to the body. Bauer has used a 1" wide nylon strap to connect the back panel to the front of the chest protector.
The Classic chest protector uses a heavy duty nylon material on the front with a neoprene-like material as a liner. It uses dense foam in the chest blocks for protection. Bauer has used several adjustment features to ensure a snug fit with this chest protector. On the arm there are 3 elastic strap at the elbow and a velcro strap at the wrist to provide a secure fit.

Comments: For me this was a huge upgrade from the used CP I had. The coverage on this CP is almost perfect. Chest is fully covered from just under the neckline down to my goalie pants, with a little over lap just in case. All the straps are perfectly placed to secure it to the body with no discomfort. I have played 4 games with it and haven't felt a single shot that has hit the padding and there are guys in my league that can put a lot of "STANK" on a slap shot.
Con: The only real drawback that I can see is that the shoulder padding is a little stiff in the beginning which can get a little annoying when turning your head side to side from hitting the pads with your mask, but I got used to it pretty fast.
