Overview
The CCM Tacks 2052 Shin Guards are perfect for recreational or casual hockey players looking for a little more protection than an entry level model. They feature stronger medium-density extension foams in key areas, including the calf wrap, lower thigh, and around the knee.
The Tacks 2052 Shins use a traditional hard plastic shell in addition to their JDP technology, which disperses the force of impacts away from the knee and into the surrounding area. On the inside, CCM uses a moisture wicking mesh nylon liner which can be removed for maintenance or a custom fit. Also, the calf wrap uses an enhanced mesh nylon liner for added comfort. The shin guard will stay secured with a nylon strap that wraps around the shin guard, in addition to a dual calf wrap strap.

Comments: Picked these up to replace my Reeboks. The shell is exactly the same, the fit is very similar. The strapping system I think is a little bit better. However the knee doughnut is not quite as substantial and doesn't really lock the knee in as well as the Reebok 9k's that I was using before. I notice it during warmups when I'm stretching, but it hasn't been an issue during the game.
