The CCM Extreme Flex II 860 Goalie Leg Pads have some great new additions that produce a pad which is usable up to the advanced level of play. As with any Lefevre product, the new additions are extremely well thought out and have been tested thoroughly before being included in the final design. One such addition is the new torsional flex in the boot. The 90° torsional flex makes the boot softer and allows it to twist when loading up, resulting in a dramatic increase in power when pushing off.

The CCM Extreme Flex II 860 leg pads are constructed with high grade microfiber leather, which gives great durability and a high quality look. The new Extreme Flex II graphics are stitched onto the face of the pad using the same microfiber leather, ensuring a consistent look throughout. 400 D nylon is used on the inner lining of the pad, and an upgraded grey Nash leather on the leg and boot channels improve pad rotation and moisture wicking.

The Extreme Flex II 860 leg pads offer a light weight pre-curved double break core. The double break core gives even greater flexibility while still keeping the five-hole coverage strong. There is a single break below the knee that keeps the pad flexible, while the rigid thigh rise provides superior five-hole coverage. The face of the pad has a traditional three roll design with a single visible break in the outer roll. This construction keeps in line with the design of the Extreme Flex series by providing better flexibility and mobility while still maintaining maximum coverage.

CCM has used light weight internal foams throughout the Extreme Flex II 860 goalie pads, including high quality molded EPE foam. The knee cradle is constructed with recessed foam, resulting in a larger landing surface that provides better stability while in the butterfly. The three-piece knee stack system has been upgraded with Nash leather and improved foams for a higher level of protection, comfort, and quality. Having a high quality knee stack is important, as it reduces the amount of joint and knee stress that occurs from constantly dropping into the butterfly. CCM's shallow soft leg channel design gives the pad perfect rotation when dropping down, and contours to the shin and skates for precise pad movements and control. The Extreme Flex II 860's calf wrap design has been overhauled for 2015. CCM has gone with a loose fit two-strap system that helps reduce overall weight while also allowing the leg to move freely and give a better seal to the post.

The Extreme Flex II 860 also features a new strapping system that has been re-designed to reduce overall weight and discomfort from straps bunching up. The leg pads now only feature a single knee strap, which both reduces weight and creates addition space to accommodate bigger knee pads. The thigh protector has a more contoured design and is also removable, allowing goalies to fully customize their knee protection.

The CCM Extreme Flex II 860 goalie pads retain many of the features that are found on the Pro model, but without the high price tag. By listening to feedback from Carey Price among others, and always looking for ways to innovate, CCM has created a high quality leg pad that sets the bar "extreme"-ly high.
