Overview
The Easton Stealth S17 Limited Edition ice hockey skate are the premier hockey skates from Easton. The S17 LE ice skates offer the same features as the S17 skates but in the slick black on black color scheme.
Easton has used Coil technology on the S17 LE skate. This utilizes one piece of carbon fiber composite material to construct the boot. This results in an extremely light weight skate that provides great flex, performance, and protection.
Easton has also used their Dry Flow™ system to release excess heat and moisture to provide a lighter, more comfortable fitting skate. Essentially this is a drain / vent in the bottom of the skate allowing moisture and heat escape. This is a nice touch because skates typically vary in a weight before and after games. This features works toward reducing this fluctuation in weight.
Easton has used a composite toe cap coated with a rubber exterior for lightweight performance and superior durability. The Clarino liner has a nice soft feel that offers great grip and a traditional feel.

Comments:These are some awesome skates with all the features of todays best skates. The prices make this an incredible deal. They are light and built like steel which contributes to a stiff feel with the motion needed for advanced level play. Break-in is not totally issue free even with heat molding but that does offer the custom fit that was once reserved for true custom skates. I would like to know why Easton is stopping to make these. If was based on some durability issues (which I have not yet experienced) then it would seem to make sense to address those issues instead of to stop making a well designed skate. There is a mixed review on durability most of which is associated with previous models so I'm not certain durability is an issue with the S17. With all composite products there are some changes to traditional boots so that will take some getting used to.
