Comments: So I picked up this cage as a replacement for my old Jofa cage since I'm getting into league play again after an extended hiatus. Being that Reebok took over Jofa and I really like the way it looks, I went with the 5k after a lot of research on other cages. The Reebok and Jofa cages are nearly identical, with the Reebok being slightly wider around the cheek area. The visibility is good though you have to start putting your head down to keep your eye on the puck when it gets close in as your peripheral vision is somewhat reduced. The chin cushion is straight foam, nothing fancy, but is comfortable, non abrasive, and has nothing to catch chin whiskers on which is all I need.
I wasn't sure about the black color, but I find I notice it even less than the white of my old cage plus gives me a more mean look. Mounting hardware was included and fit my Bauer helmet without issue.
As for sizing, I ultimately got the large which fits my oval face shape nicely. I'm 5'11" and 205lbs and initially got the medium to match my Bauer 5100 helmet size - wrong. If you're an adult with a short round face, a medium may work, but to me it seems the medium is sized more for juniors. The large is geared more for seniors. Overall, I'm very happy with the quality and fit and confident that I'm well protected in case of a stick, puck, or boards to the face. The ultimate question being would I buy it again, yes in a heartbeat.
