Comments:I don't know if this really counts as a review but more like first impressions. I went down to inline warehouse's store (which the customer service was excellent) to try on the reebok 8K helmet and compare it to the Easton S17. The reebok helmet is very comfortable and light. The gel pads inside were so soft. However, after taking on and off the helmet I started to notice that the gel pads were peeling back from the base and sticking to my hair. Also, the micro-dial on the back was malfunctioning so it did not turn easily. This made it difficult to fine tune the helmet to my head. Also, the side clips for making the helmet bigger or smaller were difficult to move (but could see these freeing up with extended use) A comment about the overall aesthetics. I liked the way it looked online but when I tried it on I noticed how wide of profile it had. I ended up going with the Easton S17 because of the flaws in the Reebok 8K. Closing remarks: Very comfortable helmet and would provide maximum protection. This helmet is also very very light. The overall construction was not up to my standards with the peeling of the gel layer and the problems with the micro dial. I realized it could have been a bad product so I tried on others of the same make and model but I still problems with the micro-dial and the quality of the gel pads.
