The Mission Thorax hockey girdle offers great protection without having a bulky feel.
Mission has used a compression design to keep the pads close to the body and in place during play, without restricting body movement. The Thorax features foam and plastic pads ensuring solid protection. The plastic in the side hip pads are especially nice if you are taking a big hit.
Mission has also designed the pad to allow you to remove each of the pads. This allows you to customize the fit and number of pads, as well as remove to wash the product.
The Mission Thorax girdle does not feature any upper hip or kidney pads, which is nice for players that want a smaller pad that still offers great protection.

Comments: I've been using this for about 6 months for protection while ice skating. I remove all the pads except the hips and tailbone. The protection has been fantastic! There is a thick layer of pliable, firm rubber covered with plastic caps that spread and cushion impact. I have fallen numerous times while learning new tricky moves, landing square on either my hips or tailbone, and in every case I've come away without a scratch or a bruise. Excellent protection and SO glad I have these. For my use I don't need kidney protection so I like the low profile design. They fit well under a size larger sweatpants. I had to return the first pair I got because they were too big. They should fit fairly snug like a pair of lycra bicycle shorts.

Comments: I had this girdle for a couple years now and i love them they are light but protect very well the hard cups on the outside stand up very well to anything indoor rinks have and even outdoor concrete rinks i have played in i feel its a great choice for the money your spending.

Comments:Happy with this girdle overall. Good value for the price. I actually bought it for ice hockey, since I no longer play in any check leagues. For that, they are super light and comfortable, but I admit that I overestimated the rigidity of the padding. I love them now, but my tune may change the first time I catch a stiff shot on the thigh! I do find myself giving them the occasional tug between shifts; they would definitely benefit from a belt. I've only used them once for roller hockey, and while they moved really well, they did not breathe as well I'd like them to.
