The Reebok 17k Pump Ice Hockey Skates are a unique mixture of the 16k skate features with the pro-level quarter package of the 20k skate.

Reebok gave this skate their best quarter package available, the Pro Armour V, which is also found on the top of the line 20k skate. This high performance quarter provides the player with excellent stiffness that in turn provides stability and support for the most advanced turns and cuts.

Just like the 18k ice skate, the 17k will also be utilizing the redesigned Pump, which has been moved close to the rear of the skate so that the bladder can be more effectively utilized, as well as slightly more protected from high-impact abrasions. To help provide protection for the top of the foot, the 7mm white felt tongue includes a solid layer of EVA foam. This foam is segmented into channels that allow for great forward flex as well as lace bite protection.

Comments: Switched from Bauer One70 to this skate, and couldn't be happier. I was having arch pain and felt like the boot wasn't the most comfortable with bauer. This skate is absolutely amazing, day one feels like a stiff but very comfy boot. Very responsive, and I LOVE the pump system. Works very very well. This is the best skate in this price range in my opinion. Lace lock system is also a huge plus.

Comments: I have had tremendous difficulty finding a stiff lightweight skate with the volume to accommodate my 13 EEEE shoe size. I tried Bauer Supremes only to have my feet continually placed in vice grips (not nearly wide enough). I have been skating in the old Easton SE16 skates for about 3 years and they fit me like a glove but they are getting worn out. I tried Easton EQ50s in 11.5 EE and loved the performance but they were way too tight. I then made the mistake of going with Reebok 14K skates in an 11.5EE because they seemed to fit well in the local hockey shop. However, I quickly realized you can't go from a high level skate to a mid level skate and sacrifice the support. I planned to buy the Reebok 18K skates but after much reading and consultation with the extremely helpful staff at IW I went with the Reebok 17K in an 11.5 EE. I can honestly say they feel better than any other skate I have put my foot in. They have the volume I need to keep my foot from cramping, the
y have the lateral stiffness I need to keep from rolling over, they are every bit as responsive as any other skate I have tried on and they are reasonably priced for what they are. If you do your homework you will see they are a poor man's 20K with the stuff you don't really need stripped away for a several hundred dollar savings. I would highly recommend these skates not only for their value but for the fantastic service I received from IW!!!
