CCM's new line of Retro Flex goalie leg pads provide solid protection as well as innovative features that maximize mobility, allowing the goaltender to make more saves throughout the game. The Retro Flex pads, per their name, have a unique "retro" look to them.

The face and high wear areas of the CCM 550 goalie leg pad is constructed with a durable microfiber leather, improving overall wear and tear. CCM graphics are stitched on using the same microfiber leather material, giving the pads a high quality pro look. Materials lining the inner side include 400 D nylon and upgraded grey Nash leather on the leg and boot channels improving pad rotation and moisture wicking.

Various internal lightweight foams are used throughout Retro Flex 550 CCM goalie pads ensuring proper protection and performance. The foam core insert used on the CCM 550 leg pad provides the majority of the internal structure, maximizing the goaltenders blocking surface area and allows the pads to keep their shape over time. The Retro Flex 550 CCM leg pad is constructed with a single outer roll break below the knee allowing the thigh rise to remain rigid, great covering the 5-hole when in the butterfly position. These pads also come with an adjustable under-pant thigh protector for increased knee and thigh protection. The materials and foam inserts on the three-piece knee stack system are upgraded with Nash leather and improved foams for a higher level of protection and quality. The Knee stack keeps the goaltenders knee elevated, reducing overall joint stress and allows for increased leg extension while in the butterfly position. CCM's narrow leg channel design allows the pad to rotate when dropping down as well as contours the shin and skates for precise pad movements and control. CCM's three-piece segmented calf wrap design is upgraded on the CCM 550 pads by using dual medium density foams that provide additional calf protection and comfort. CCM's nylon, elastic and leather strapping systems allows the goaltender to adjust the leg pad for a customized fit.
