The Vaughn 9500 Straight Bar Goal Mask is constructed with a complete composite outer shell using Carbon and Aramid fibers for lighter weight and added strength. The shell of the 9500 is high pressure molded and infused with epoxy resin ensuring complete saturation of the different composite fiber layers. Helmets are heat cured to provide extra durability as well as adding a smooth finish. Vaughn's special attention to the shell shape is designed to move impact loads away from the frontal impact areas. The flared chin allows the mask to be tucked in the chest area to better protect the neck area. Giving the goalie better visibility is the extra wide facial opening that provides enhanced vertical and peripheral vision. The cage design has been optimized providing true vision sight lines by precise positioning of the cage bars achieving optimum clarity. Stainless steel construction used on the cage adds durability while maintaining a low glare. Internal padding of lightweight pro VN foam has full coverage without gaps for continuous protection.
