The Ventus LT98 catcher uses a Pro Spec construction that adds padding to high impact areas, effectively removing the chance of "stingers" from hard shots. The palm, back thumb, and cuff have all been reinforced with Carbon fiber, dramatically reducing weight while also increasing protection. The cuff box has a large-flared design, which helps reduce puck skip over. The binding less design of the cuff helps increase the effective blocking surface while also increasing durability and reducing overall weight.

The new T-web pocket has been made deeper to improve puck retention, and features plastic support stays that extend into the body of the catcher to keep the web wider while open. The back hand has a high density fingertip deflection pad and high density foam over the fingers for complete coverage. The new wrist strapping system has a comfort foam strap that can be tightened fully without limiting mobility, and a new back hand strap allows for greater tension without sacrificing range of motion. The materials used throughout the catcher allow it to be heat formed for a quick break-in, and the neoprene internal hand aligns the glove to provide additional control.
