Overview

The Bauer Vapor X900 Grip Hockey Stick is an excellent choice for the player looking for pro-preferred performance, durability and feel. The Bauer X900 utilizes a full 12K carbon fiber construction that is commonly found in the NHL. Bauer also gave this Vapor X900 stick the same Aero-Sense II blade core found on the flagship 1X.

For the first time since the X:60, these Bauer Vapor sticks showcase a whole new flex profile that is designed for the quickest shot release possible. The previous Intelli-Sense dual kick point is now replaced with their QRT (Quick Release Taper) Technology. This aggressive taper focuses the stick's kick point as low as possible and translates into the quickest release from a Vapor stick to date.

Bauer didn't stop there either, this X900 stick features the same, new blade core as the 1X. The Aero-Sense II has a new "Sense" Layer, which is an aerospace-grade material directly fused into the outer layer of the blade's carbon fiber. The Sense Layer is not only lightweight but has incredible durability properties. It helps to prevent chips and cracks from happening around the edges, it helps to prevent premature blade breakdown and it provides excellent puck feel for the player.

Comments: As they said; feels like a top end stick but without the price. I had a chance to try the X700, X800 and X900 on ice and have to say the X900 blew them both away. This is my first low kick stick so it took some while getting used to, but my passing (more of a setup-up guy) improved immediately. It's easy to load up and get off a quick saucer-pass without overpowering it.

I play both wing and defence and alternate with the X900 when on forward and Supreme when playing Defence. Favourite feature is the sense layer... my Nexus 4000 and 6000 have so many chips and skate cuts I only use them for shinny. After games, I can see parts of the blade tape having cuts and rips but when I remove it, the sense layer is still untouched.

The sense layer alone is worth paying the extra for the X900, but you get the added 12K shaft and blade as well.

Comments: Love it. A little more than I wanted to pay, but I prefer the 12K carbon fibre. I wish Bauer had a 12k Shaft w/ 3k blade like the nexus series (with a little lighter price) but the pro-spec blade on the X900 is superb.
