When buying a pair of roller hockey skates it is really important to make sure you get the right size and have a solid snug fit. If an inline hockey skate is too big your feet will move around and you will not get all of the performance out of the skates. If the skates are too small they can cramp your feet and be uncomfortable. Ideally, when standing straight up you want to feel the front of the skates. As you move into a skating position your feet should slightly slide back and barely feel the front of the skate.

Skate Fitting Instructions

When your skates fit properly, you have better balance, more control, and more power.

Important:

When you are trying on the skates for the first time make sure that your heel is positioned deep in the heel pocket of the skate. While sitting down, put the skate on and kick the heel back into the skate.

Correct Size:

Stand with your skates laced and your heel snug in the heel cup. Your toes should just barely feather the end of the toe box. Then bend forward into a skating stance. Your toes should pull back slightly from the toe box. Cramped toes are bad, but so are loose sloppy ones.

Junior and youth skaters may allow for growth by sizing up a 1/2 of size. 1/2 size is equivalent to one finger between the heel and the back of the skate. To measure, slide the foot forward in the boot and measure the distance between the heel and the back of the boot.

Wrap:

You want an even yet snug fit. To achieve this fit, adjust your laces to alleviate pressure and spread support evenly over your entire foot.

For general skate size conversions and more international conversions please refer to our International General Skate Size Conversion Chart. We've also included brand specific charts below for both Senior & Junior sizes.

Note: Sizing is a preference and therefore charts DO NOT GUARANTEE FIT. Do not heat, bake, sharpen or skate until you are sure you will not need to return or exchange.
