Overview

The Bladetech Multi-Fit Polished Steel Runners can flawlessly swap between Bauer's Tuuk Lightspeed Edge and PowerFly holders allowing players and teams to use this single runner between both quick-release trigger holders on the fly! They also feature Flex Force Technology, which makes Bladetech unlike any other replacement steel on the market. Flex Force Technology provides hockey players with both performance and health benefits. The runner has a unique design where the blade flexes up into the holder, absorbing and storing the vertical energy before exploding it back out during the stride extension.

This new technology increases player speed and acceleration, as well as absorbs vertical energy that would normally be absorbed by the knee joint. This ultimately reduces stress on the knees while increasing the efficiency of each stride, slowing down player fatigue. Bladetech only uses the highest quality of steel and finishes the surface with a high polish, giving players a longer glide and sharpening life.

Lastly, the runners come pre-profiled so that the blades maintain better ice contact in all skating positions. This improves stability, glide, acceleration, stopping and turning over standard stock profiles.

IW can have your skate blades delivered profiled, sharpened, and game-ready with Elite Blade Performance technology! Choose custom profiles like Double, Triple, Quad, SCS, and Polaris to boost speed, stability, and agility. We offer various sharpening options and an Express Mail-In service. Select your profile and sharpening hollow when adding a blade to your cart. BLADETECH MULTI-FIT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Please follow these steps carefully for installation:
1.) Ensure the front hook is fully inserted first.
2.) Line up the back hook, but do not push in yet.
3.) Pull the trigger fully with one hand.
4.) With other hand you can now push the heel of the blade into the holder fully.
5.) Make sure the blade goes all the way in before you release the trigger.
6.) Give the skate a tap on a carpet, or rubber piece, to make sure that everything is locked and seated correctly.
7.) You can test everything is locked by trying to pull the blade out.
The trigger will return to the closed position when you release by hand, or when you tap on the carpet. With Bladetech steel, sometimes the trigger will actually be providing more back tension. The above steps are always the best process to install blades.

Blades should NEVER be "slammed" into the holder, without engaging the trigger by hand. That will cause abrasive and wear on the holder over time.

HOW TO FIND YOUR SKATE BLADE SIZE
Take your current hockey skates and identify the three-digit number, which can be found on either the heel side of your blade holder or on the blades themselves. Locate your three-digit number in the Bauer Edge and PowerFly chart below to find your Bladetech Runner size. If for any reason you cannot locate the number, see our How to Size a Hockey Skate Blade and Holder article for a more in-depth approach to skate blade sizing and skate blade compatibility.

Significant upgrade from Bauer steelThe current generation of Bauer runners have been snapping left and right lately, so I knew I wanted some quality steel after switching back to Bauer from CCM skates. Having previously used Bladetech's runners, I knew what to expect, and they've lived up to their reputation. It takes time to adjust to the stock profile after having 10' radius runners with no profile, but they feel fantastic. No clue if the knee cushioning/extra boost to agility claims are true, I simply like them for their high quality steel.

Changes everythingI was skeptical about buying these, but they’ve changed the way. I skate made it easier more fluid quicker turns and less fatigue worth the purchase.

Adequate replacement blades for Bauer skatesFirst, IW had excellent customer service, but I'll get to that. For the performance, they're fine. The company touts how good they are. I haven't noticed a remarkable difference. However, they're not performing worse. It's as if I didn't break my old blade. I'm 47 and slowing down and only a jet pack will change that. As for the customer service: When I received the blades they were wrong. There was a question about "Edge" vs "Non-Edge". It also mentioned a year (I think pre- or post- 2007, but I might have that wrong.) My skates were def more recent than the year, so I chose that. Got the blades. Didn't match. Called IW. They took care of it. Got the new ones, returned the wrong ones. All was well with the world.
