The CCM Referee Pants are designed to keep the official fully mobile so they can keep up with the play while adding built-in protection from incidental impacts.
Maintaining a low profile to keep the referee looking great, standard foam adds coverage to the hips and thighs while molded plastic improves impact protection to the tailbone. Plus, a padded kidney belt constructed with anatomically shaped molded plastic hugs the body to ensure pro-level protection without sacrificing mobility.
The pants secure comfortably around the waist with an elastic waistband and a single belt closure system. The kidney belt also secures with a single belt closure and is removable for lighter paced games.
For even more in-game protection, the CCM Referee Pants work in partnership with the CCM Referee Padded Base Pants.

Previous Feedback
Comments: These had potential but there are a few issues. The biggest problem is the wrap-around kidney/back protector. The padding does not fully wrap around to the front like other brands, so you're left with the upper belt strap awkwardly across your entire stomach and hanging there uncomfortably. It's noticeably different from other models. Other improvements I'd make would be to wrap the calf pads more to prevent the "quadzilla" look, improve tailbone protection, and add rear calf protection. They do have a pretty clean and professional look, which is a plus. They are an improvement from prior CCM built-ins, but still needed some field testing which would have probably identified these issues.
