The CCM Tacks Classic Shin Guard is a great choice for the recreational player seeking performance-level protection and comfort without dipping too deep into the wallet. Compress-molded reinforced PE plastic provides great calf protection against slashes while the JDP molded plastic knee cap helps displace impact energy into the surrounding foam when taking a fall. | Sitting at a 90-degree angle, measure from the bottom of your kneecap to the top of your foot parallel to your ankle and round to the nearest inch. This measurement equals your shin guard size when worn over the skate tongue. Correspond this measurement with the "Tongue In" column below. This is the most popular style since it offers more coverage and the best mobility. | |
| If you prefer to wear the shin guard under the skate tongue, simply subtract 1" from your measurement, which equals going one pad size down. This style provides a lighter and lower-profile fit. |
