The CCM Tacks XF Pro Pants are built for physical gameplay while providing players with top-level comfort, coverage, mobility, and breathability. CCM's legendary D3O Zero foam was implemented into the hips and spine guard for elite-level impact protection. At the same time, the FlexMotion design provides maximum coverage to the body while allowing all the protection to seamlessly move with each other.

Taking inspiration from the FT6 Pro Pants, the XF Pro showcases CCM's AER-TEC Ventilation System to bring advanced breathability to help regulate body temperature. With exhaust ports in the belly pad and spine guard, air can circulate the waist through the strategic air channels between the kidneys and hips, keeping the body cool and dry.

It's loaded with added features to ensure top-level comfort and performance. A pro cut -1" length on the back of the legs along with repositioned leg zippers reduce pant friction during crossovers and big strides. An internal belt with a sublimated liner keeps the pants locked and comfortable on the waist while a premium nylon exterior ensures long-lasting durability. For players who need added length, the XF Pro comes with a hidden 1" zipper extension so they can obtain the coverage needed for their game.

Measure the circumference of your waist just above the hips. Correspond this measurement to the sizing chart and cross-reference your height. You may overlap between hockey pant sizes, which in this case comes down to personal preference. The smaller size will fit closer to the body while the larger size will offer more volume and coverage.

Protection needed for this level of playFor some reason, these weren’t available in Minnesota during late summer and early fall 2025. As the boys transition from the aggressive play of lacrosse and tackle football, having stronger coverage at this level becomes crucial, especially when facing outstate teams and refs who allow higher thresholds for checking and slashing at tournaments. These pants deliver excellent protection: - Coverage that deflects injuries during stick battles and wild puck shots - Impact absorption that cushions knockdowns and board play - Confidence boost by making the kid feel bigger, reducing hesitation in engagement - Lightweight design that keeps speed intact In his older pants without D30 foam, he felt impacts much more, especially on the tailbone. These pants significantly reduce that transfer of force, and their protection and breathability pair perfectly with the CCM Tacks XF Pro Ice Hockey Shoulder Pads, which I also highly recommend. The only drawback is style-related: to match team colors, you need to buy a shell, which compromises breathability and airflow and adds some weight. Ideally, these pants should come with a built-in option for a breathable color shell in the right size. Still, if I’d deduct half a point for that, I’d add it right back for the classic lace-up fly design (very “noice”).

You get what you pay forI tried multiple options around the $200 range but nothing came close to these as far as fit, comfort and especially tailbone padding - I also love that there is no velcro - just zippers, laces and the 1 buckle. I'm 5' 7" and currently around 180 and the mediums fit really well.
