The CCM Tacks XF Pro Youth Shin Guard delivers reliable protection within a highly comfortable and mobile fit for the elite, young hockey superstar. Designed to disperse impact force away from the knee, the molded kneecaps are reinforced with D3O Zero, a highly protective foam that is specifically designed to absorb energy taken from a fall or collision.

It has a wonderful calf strap that offers stretch and easy adjustability to ensure the shin guard stays locked on the leg during strides and crossovers. Internally, the liner provides a soft cushion against the leg and can be adjusted to fit each player properly. It can also be removed to help reduce drying time and be washed between games.

Sizing Chart

GENERAL SHIN GUARD SIZING GUIDELINES
Sitting at a 90-degree angle, measure from the bottom of your kneecap to the top of your foot parallel to your ankle and round to the nearest inch. This measurement equals your shin guard size when worn over the skate tongue. Correspond this measurement with the "Tongue In" column below. This is the most popular style since it offers more coverage and the best mobility.
If you prefer to wear the shin guard under the skate tongue, simply subtract 1" from your measurement, which equals going one pad size down. This style provides a lighter and lower-profile fit.

GreatThese shin pads have the new velcro strap design, similar to what the pros use -- there are 2 straps, and both are better than all "older" styles. The top strap is thinner, which is anatomically correct, and it wraps all the way to the front of the leg, where it won't come loose (as "side" velcro straps do). The bottom strap is very wide; it stretches over the entire calf muscle, and it has a hefty velcro fastener. These are youth pads, but there's more padding than found on many older models and all less expensive models. You won't need tape with these shin guards -- it becomes optional, if that it what the player is used to, OK, but not needed.
