Each package includes the equipment most leagues require, plus our recommended accessories to help you get fully geared up and ready to play. Whether you’re shopping for a young player or starting out yourself, we’ll help you find the right gear to hit the rink with confidence.

New hockey players need several pieces of protective equipment before getting on the rink. Use the ice hockey and roller hockey required equipment checklists below to make sure you have the essential gear and accessories needed to play.

Both our Ice Hockey Starter Package and Roller Hockey Starter Package include all of the essential hockey equipment that most leagues require, plus top-recommended accessories like a jersey, stick tape and more.

Best of all, you build your own Starter Package. Mix and match brands, models and sizes to find the gear that fits you best and create a setup that works for you.

They overlap on most protective pieces, but:
- Ice Hockey Package adds ice hockey skates, ice-specific pants, ice hockey socks and a neck guard
- Roller Hockey Package swaps in roller hockey pants and a roller hockey girdle

• Youth: Up to age 9 / up to 4′6″ / up to 60 lbs
• Junior: Ages 9–14 / 4′6″–5′5″ / 60–120 lbs
• Senior: 14+ / 5′5″+ / 120 lbs+
