Sizing Chart

GENERAL SHIN GUARD SIZING GUIDELINES
Sitting at a 90-degree angle, measure from the bottom of your kneecap to the top of your foot parallel to your ankle and round to the nearest inch. This measurement equals your shin guard size when worn over the skate tongue. Correspond this measurement with the "Tongue In" column below. This is the most popular style since it offers more coverage and the best mobility.
If you prefer to wear the shin guard under the skate tongue, simply subtract 1" from your measurement, which equals going one pad size down. This style provides a lighter and lower-profile fit.

Calf strap was way too shortI was very hopeful about these shin pads after reading reviews and seeing video reviews with such positive feedback. The quality felt just fine. The major issue for me was that the calf strap was extremely short. I don't think I have very large calves - I would say average size, and I am not a big guy (5'10", 185 lbs). When I did wrap the strap around my calf enough to attach the velcro, it felt like my circulation was being cut off - it was very tight. Had to return the pads.

Great shinsThese shin pads are a perfect middle ground between Jetspeed and Tacks. I was getting bruises from blocking beer league shots with Jetspeeds and then with Tacks XF shins I couldn't feel a thing, but the weight of those pads was ridiculous. If you wear over the tongue you'll want to hit them with a heat gun and widen a bit at the bottom.

Nice low profile fitThese are comfy and allow you to move freely. Definitely felt the difference coming from CCM FT4s.

Great padsNice and snug; no need for bulk purchases of clear tape for me anymore. I’ve already blocked a few shots with them and they protect well.

Best overall shin guard & elbow padsI’ve been on the hunt for new shin pads and elbow pads and have tried the Bauer hyperlites, Bauer supreme machs, ccm tacks, ccm jetspeed pro’s and the Sherwood encrypt’s and the Sherwood encrypt shin guards and elbow pads were the best out of all of them. They have the perfect amount of padding and weren’t too bulky or heavy compared to the ccm & bauer lines. Neither the Sherwood shin pads or elbow pads slid out of place during my games and only feel better the more I wear them. Highly recommend, they absolutely rival the other top brands out there!!

Great performance and valueMy son says these rival the top models from CCM and Bauer. In fact after switching his elbow pads and shin guards he prefers Sherwood gear and I prefer the value. I asked him if you won a free set of new gear any brand or model; for elbow guards and shin guards he chose Sherwood. I’m not sure how long these will last, my son has always been hard on shin guards, ripped straps or cracked knees. But regardless if they last as long as the other brands because of the built in value they are the best on the market in my opinion. Don’t be afraid to give Sherwood equipment a chance, I’m sure glad we did.

Excellent fit, feel, and qualityThe back strap seems a little too tight, but other than that these are super comfy, have a great slimline fit, and are good quality
