45 years ago, K2 was born as America's ski company on Vashon Island in Washington State's Puget Sound. Renamed in 2003 as K2 Sports, the company today is an international portfolio of 16 world renowned brands and over 40 consumer product categories. In 1994, K2 introduced the Softboot technology for inline skates, and after almost 20 years, it's still the foundation of K2's entire line. More recently introduced on K2 Skates is the BOA Closure System, a system designed specifically for K2 to allow on the fly adjustment and nearly eliminate any pressure points in the boot. K2 Sports is what happens when fun meets science and technology.
