True used a new Poly Fusion material with NeuroFit technology to make the shell. It pairs with the Shift Max holder that can release the and True Shift 3CR steel in seconds, keeping players on the ice and off the bench.
With a multi-layered black felt tongue, the 3X4 looks sleek and keeps the top of the foot well protected. Plus, it attaches to the low-profile Carv toe cap with velcro so it can be further adjusted and even replaced in case anything happens to it. Last but not least, the Blackwick liner keeps you cool, dry and locked in all game long.

Rocket skates, have IW radius and hollow tooThis is my first time buying any True brand gear. I am very pleased after about a half dozen times out. I decided not to bake the skates and that has worked out for me. I had baked my CCM ribcor skates that these had replaced about 8 years ago and it was fine but had spots that dug in over time that had to heat out. I do skate with top two eyelets empty and a lot of ankle flexing to my stride. I tried the regular 9.5 but had to exchange for the wide 9.5. IW was a breeze to exchange with. They are snug but the connection to the edges feels very good. I had a radius and a hollow done to the blades by IW and it is awesome right out of the box. First few times took some feeling it out but now they already are my favorite setup (I’ve been on the ice for 50 years and played up through college and still like to compete in the 20-30 year olds leagues so I would say I give my skates a hard workout and these ones are great)

Hands down best skate in this price pointI never write reviews but there is VERY little info on this skate. This will probably be a long read, and not very organized. But here’s my thoughts on these skates from your average beer leaguer.
I was honestly a bit worried switching from my Vapor 1x’s to these since the 1x was once top of the line. The 3x4’s are hands down a better skate. I had zero foot pain in the 1st ever skate in them which I didn’t think was possible. The performance I get out of the 3x4’s is on par with the former of the line Bauer skate as well. The way these fit is like no other, I will never skate in anything besides true skates after trying these out. I’m now about 8 skates in and I’m officially on the true bandwagon. True Temper Hockey, you’ve made a great skate. I can’t even imagine how good the 9x4 is.
My only issue with this skate is the 3cr steel that they come with is absolutely awful. Holds an edge for 1 game, if that, before needing a sharpening. I ended up swapping out the steel for Tydan JRZ Pro Steel and the combo between that and the true skate is perfect imo. Definitely suggest you upgrade the steel on these things, other than that I have zero issues. If you don’t like a super stiff boot this skate is for you. The shell is plenty stiff but up around the ankle is a bit softer than I’m used to, but now that I’m dialed in with it I prefer the freedom that this skate offers around the ankle, and find my edge work to be better than with the extremely stiff 1x’s. I’m also a bigger guy who always only skated in extremely stiff skates before getting these, I’ve had no issues after 2 weeks of skating 4x a week. As I said I now prefer this style of a boot and skate.
P.S. @Ice warehouse, please fix your listing. These are not recreational level skates yet you have them listed as that. In 1 section of the listing you guys have them as a recreational skate, and if you scroll down it later says performance. In the 1 review I could find of these skates they made it clear these aren’t an entry level skate despite being true’s cheapest model. They’re extremely thermoformable, you can swap the steel, they use high end materials, I’ve taken clappers off the boot and it’s protected me just as good as the 1x’s, NOTHING about these skates fall into the recreational category. These skates are miles ahead of Bauer X’s and the other ACTUAL recreational hockey skates that Bauer and ccm offer. I found it to be very misleading. It also would be nice if you guys would drop a video review on these, I had to purchase to find out if they’re good or not, if it wasn’t for true’s 30 day guarantee I would’ve never purchased. I had so many questions that you guys always answer in your gear reviews that couldn’t be answered. I had to take a shot in the dark and purchase to have my questions answered. Anyways, great skate, 4.9/5, only issue is the crap steel they come with.Note from IW: The product description has been updated from Recreational to Performance.
