Bauer Re-Akt 150 Helmet

Hockey players of all ages and skill levels know the pain of trying on a helmet that doesn't fit properly. It feels like an instant headache caused by pressure from all angles paired with an occasional pinching sensation on the ears. While the discomfort is the immediate issue, more importantly, it means the helmet is not protecting the player like it should because it is not properly fitted.

The Bauer Re-Akt 150 Helmet is here to eliminate both of these issues. Simply put, most modern helmet lack the adjustability needed to properly fit a players head shape in terms of length and width. It is usually one or the another, which is where the Re-Akt 150's new Freeform Adjustment System steps in to change the game as we know it.

By utilizing a three-piece helmet shell construction, unlike the traditional two-piece shell, Bauer was able to integrate independent length and width adjustments. This new system makes this helmet 250% more adjustable than any other Bauer helmet and easily the most adjustable helmet on the market today.

The top center tab allows the helmet to adjust the linear length, while the two rear tabs allow the shell to expand or contract side to side for width adjustment. This pairing enables a player to find the near-perfect fit for their unique head shape unlike anything else out.

Internally, Bauer took a fresh new approach for comfort and protection. The three-pronged, multi-layered Comfort Pods provide an even more personalized fit around the head since they can also better adapt to a player's head shape. Meanwhile, Bauer's advanced IX Foams create an incredibly comfortable contact point between the helmet and the head.

Taking a deeper dive into the base materials, the Re-Akt 150 utilizes Bauer's most protective foam called XRD. Even though it feels like soft memory foam, XRD does a stellar job of managing high and low energy impacts all without compromising comfort.

VTX Foam is another standout material that Bauer used, not to mention it also helps to reduce weight too. Similar to EPP Foam, VTX is actually 20% lighter and comes with 10% improved performance too.

VTX is designed to handle big, high-energy impacts which is the reason Bauer used it in such key locations throughout the helmet like the front, top and rear of the helmet.

In our opinion, the Bauer Re-Akt 150 Helmet is one of the best fitting and most comfortable helmets we've ever tried on.
