Overview
The CCM Tacks XR 85 Hockey Shin Guards deliver premium impact protection, comfort, and a secure fit that's built for competitive hockey. An injected shin cap provides durable, lightweight protection, while the JDP kneecap helps disperse impact force away from the knee joint. Compress-molded EVA foam is featured along the calf and is reinforced with D3O® shotblock protection to give players added coverage against shots, slashes, and other hard impacts.
On the side of the leg, mid-density foam combines with an XR-style PE reinforced side guard to extend protective coverage without making things bulky. An XR-style padded stretch strap works with the length-adjustable ADPTFIT calf strap to provide a secure, comfortable fit across a variety of calf sizes. Internally, a removable sublimated liner features a comfort donut around the knee for added cushioning, while nylon reinforcement along the bottom helps improve durability in a high-wear area.

| GENERAL SHIN GUARD SIZING GUIDELINES | |

| Sitting at a 90-degree angle, measure from the bottom of your kneecap to the top of your foot, parallel to your ankle, and round to the nearest inch. This measurement equals your shin guard size when worn over the skate tongue. Correspond this measurement with the "Tongue In" column below. This is the most popular style since it offers more coverage and the best mobility. | |
| If you prefer to wear the shin guard under the skate tongue, simply subtract 1" from your measurement, which equals going one pad size down. This style provides a lighter and lower-profile fit. |
