Which CCM Protective Line Is Right For You?
Deciding which protective gear line can be confusing but IW is here to help! When all is said and done, protective gear can be categorized by weight, protection and coverage so let's take a look at how the CCM Super Tacks AS1 and JetSpeed FT1 Lines stack up against one another.
CCM SUPER TACKS AS1 PROTECTIVE GEAR

Without a doubt, the CCM Super Tacks AS1 Line is built for maximum protection and coverage. Super Tacks was designed for the physical player who isn't afraid to sacrifice their body in the corners or in front of the opposition's shot.
All four pieces of gear; elbow pads, shoulder pads, shin guards and ice pants, provide complete coverage and are extra reinforced with materials that maximize impact absorption.
Completely unique to the Super Tacks AS1 Line is the most protective foam CCM Hockey offers and one of the best foams on the market in general, called D30. This smart foam feels more like memory foam but upon impact, the molecules lock together to create some of the best protection around. Since this foam is a lot more pliable than traditional hard plastic, D30 allows the pads to better form around the body for excellent fit and comfort too.

CCM JETSPEED FT1 PROTECTIVE GEAR

On the other hand, JetSpeed boasts minimal weight, a low-profile and maximum range of motion. This protective family is suited for the quick, agile player who needs to have an uninhibited range of motion and as little weight as possible.
Just like how Super Tacks exclusively used D30 Foam, JetSpeed has a few exclusive materials too. The most notable is the RocketFrame Composite that CCM also uses in their high-end ice hockey skates. Unlike the heavier D30 Foam, RocketFrame Composite is featherlight and offers top-notch protection from high-energy/low-mass impacts like slashes and blocked shots.

While RocketFrame Composite reduces weight throughout the FT1 Line, U+Foam & Zote Foam keep it that way all game long. U+Foam is a groundbreaking material that sparked the ultra-lightweight protective gear trend years ago. CCM was able to use this new foam that maintained elite impact management but at a fraction of the cost. It is so protective, they began replacing heavy plastic inserts with an all-foam construction.
U+Foam and Zote Foam also help to repel moisture throughout the pad. Unlike traditional open cell foam, these closed-cell versions do not, which keeps this line featherlight and dry from the first period to the third.

In summary, if you're a physical player who loves blocking shots, the CCM Super Tacks AS1 Line with its max coverage and protection is right up your alley. The CCM JetSpeed FT1 Line is perfect for the quick, agile player looking for minimal weight and maximum range of motion. Either way, CCM has you covered no matter your needs!
