Overview
The Labeda Gripper Asphalt Outdoor Wheels are one of the most popular wheels used for outside surfaces because of their great balance of performance and durability. Most other outdoor wheels sacrifice durability for performance or performance for durability, but these Asphalt Gripper Wheels allow a player to skate at a high level without the fear of destroying the soft urethane. These Gripper wheels are made by the family owned Labeda business right here in the USA.

Product Note | DEK tile or similar non-hockey perforated tiles provide less wheel contact surface area. As a result, using wheels on these surfaces has less grip and will wear down quicker. |

Sizing Chart
HOCKEY WHEEL HARDNESS GUIDELINES | |
---|---|
Roller hockey wheel hardness or durometer should be decided on factors like a player's weight, skill level and playing surface. The higher the durometer rating, the harder the wheel. For example, an 82A wheel is perfect for rough outdoor surfaces while a 76A wheel excels indoors. More advanced players can also benefit from harder wheels since they can utilize the extra rebound and speed. |

Customer Reviews
Perfect for improvementFaster than my previous Labeda wheels (Labeda Addiction). Challange my balance a bit more, but very interesting. Harder to skate when the asphalt contains big shingle (not so smooth) as I am shaking a bit. Getting slowly used to the new wheels. I am happy with them.
I would recommend these wheels. Training with them makes me a better skater over time.
Rock solid productI bought a pair of twister 80s in 2011 I bought a set of these and they lasted me 5 years and I just had to buy some new 2016 and wow Labeda up there game these wheels are so Rock solid with a 85a hardness these wheels are smooth and grip like crazy and one other thing the price can not be beat and they are made right here in the good old USA man I love these wheels they are tough I way 330lbs and these handle me no problem jumping sliding they do it all, thank you Labeda for making a rock solid product that dose not break the bank.
Perfect for asphalt onlyMy best friend randomly told me that I'd be playing this spring on his inline hockey team. I hurried up and dug my skates out only to find that my step-son had scavenged them for wheels and bearings for his dang scooter! I'm the type that researches my purchases forever. I didn't have time to completely understand the importance of purchasing the appropriate wheel. I'm 6' 2" - 220 lbs, and I hadn't been on my skates for 5+ years. The chart provided by IW stated that at that weight for rough to smooth outdoor surfaces, I should be using 82A-84A hardness wheels. The Labeda Gripper Asphalt Outdoor Wheels I bought are 85A. They're fast and they're holding up great. The problem I'm having is that they're so rigid I'm having a terrible time starting on some of the smoother rinks and no matter the rink I'm on my turning radius is gigantic. I definitely recommend for asphalt hockey but, not for anything smoother than that.
Best asphalt wheel everBest wheels ever i use for asphalt!
Fast and grip wellLabeda wheels are great - I've used the green shooters for a couple years now, but switched to the orange grippers. These wheels are really nice. I play outdoors on smooth concrete and am about 170 lbs. They are really fast, grip well, and I can hockey stop on them pretty well. Only wore them once so far, but I'm really excited to use these.
Great gripI switched from the Revision Asphalt Pro wheels to these due to no grip on cement. I went with the 83a wheels and immediately feel confident with the grip.
